    you could always try booking your accommodation independently as well, we booked ours through go-thassos and got a great deal

    Hi Adrian. Booked flights with Thomas Cook today - certainly were a lot cheaper than Thomson.
    Hoping to stay at the same place we always rent our sunbeds - just a little further down from Green Sea - a really nice Greek couple who have 8 studios right on the beach front . Overall cost is about the same as Thomson's but exactly where we want to be. :)

    Hi Tone, it's about twenty euro's to Keromoti. We found a lovely little place just behind the Sussie, we go there all the time. Very reasonable. What's the name of your apartments. We sit just beside the Green Sea.

    Hi Wendy. We are staying at Aigaio Studios just along from Green Sea towards Golden Beach end of the bay - the studios are practically on the beach and the Greek couple who own them are really nice. We are going later in August. Sounds like you may sit in the same spot !
    Still a bit worrying relying on taxis , particularly on the return journey but hopefully all will go well.

    Hi Tone, I walked along to Potimai to the taxi rank the day before leaving (needed two taxi's). Their was no problem.

    When you get off the Ferry on your return journey, turn to your left there is a taxi rank a few yards away.

    Hi Ferenc,

    The technician said that he will fix the webcam this weekend since we finally received the new parts from U.S.A. I am very hopeful that the beautiful views will be back in just a matter of days. :)

    I'm looking out of the window today , its dark wet and miserable. How nice to see Golden Beach is the opposite, looking good. It's good that you are back, so we can peak at our lovely beach. Roll on next year

    Contract on regional airport privatization to be signed within ten days


    The president of state privatization fund TAIPED Stergios Pitsiorlas announced that a contract with the Fraport-Slentel joint venture will be signed within the next ten days for the concession of 14 regional airports for 40+10 years.

    The airports included in the deal are those in Aktio, Chania, Kavala, Kefalonia, Kerkyra, Kos, Mytilene, Myconos, Rhodes, Samos, Santorini, Skiathos, Thessaloniki and Zakynthos.

    According to the announcements, the joint venture will pay a lump sum of 1.2 billion euros on top of an annual 22.9 million euros in rent and 28.5% of income before taxes. The company has also committee to 330 million euros worth of investments in the next four years and 1.4 billion euros overall during the 40-year lease.

    so ill take that some more airliners to come on the near future?
