    Hello everyone and Happy New Year!

    The cross was thrown into the sea and we had planned to broadcast it via the webcam as we have done annually ever since the webcam went online. Unfortunately, due to technical issues, this was not possible this year. Our humblest apologies for this. :(

    Please keep watching the webcam throughout 2011 to see many interesting and beautiful shots!

    I must take a moment to ask you all to keep in mind that due to the country's economic problems and the austerity measures taken by the government, this year will be a difficult one for the people of Thassos. Anyone who is able to come and enjoy their holidays here, on one of the most beautiful and charming islands in Greece, will be supporting the Thassians through these tough times. So please, come and let the locals receive you with open arms and show you the true meaning of Greek hospitality. We promise that you will make many friends here and that you will have the most memorable time of your life!

    We hope to see you in 2011!
