I would like to know about the wildfires situation on Thassos this year, from someone on the island.
How bad is it this year? Is it safe to come on the island?
We are planning on arriving at the end of August and we are more worried about the fires than covid

I completely understand your concern. Fortunately, Thassos hasn't had any serious wildfires this year and it is still very safe to come.
We're on high alert at the moment and we regularly hear planes flying overhead scouting the forests and mountains. We've been very fortunate so far!
