Hi Soren, we spent Whitsun week in Skala Prinos, staying at the Socrates Plaza, and we came across your hotel during one of our walks, and I must say it looked very impressive. There was a mainly sandy beach just down the road, but not much else in that area, you'll need to go to the Port area for more facilities ie tavernas, shops etc. I'd recommend renting a car to get around the island, the roads are so quiet and there are no roundabouts or traffic lights, so it's easy! Hope you have a good time, Paul.

We going to travel to Skala Prinos in August. We'll stay Hotel Artemis. What can I know the Artemis? Are there lots of restaurants, supermarkets, shops? What about the beach? Sandy? Pleasant?
Thank you your informations. Lajos.

Hotel Artemis is located just metres from a beautiful sandy beach which also has some small, smooth pebbles. It's organized and well taken care of, with a beach bar, sunbeds and umbrellas, and various things for entertainment. You will have no problem finding super markets, shops and restaurants nearby at the ferry port as well as in the Dasillio area (opposite direction of the ferry port).
Have a safe journey and enjoy our beautiful island!

Hi, we have stayed at the Hotel Socrates three times now, love Thassos, but last time we were there, about three years ago there was talk of a hotel being built further along the beach. Can anyone tell me if this happened? Thanks Sue.

Hi there, I will be staying in Hotel America this summer with my family. Can you please tell me what the beach is like? The hotel description states the beach is 50m away but no further details. We are travelling with two young children and are keen to know if the water is quite shallow and if there are umbrellas/chairs at the beach. Is it a private beach or is it public?
Many thanks!

Although I haven't stayed at Hotel America, I've stayed in Skala Prinos and the beaches there are wonderful. Sandy and shallow and great for children. Umbrellas and Sunbeds are in some parts but not everywhere, so you can take your own things and find a place away from the crowds if you like doing that. The beaches are all public.
Have fun!
Sue

Thassos island is an incredible place for sailing! The winds are usually strongest in August.

Ferry service from Nea Peramos was discontinued 2 years ago. The only options are Kavala to Skala Prinos and Keramoti to Limenas.

Villa Iris is not a new hotel but it was newly refurnished during the last few years.
Calle,
The strike may or may not affect you, it's best to ask the companies with whom you are traveling for this information.
