Happy memories
Just found the website and enjoying some of the comments. A group of us first found Thassos back in the early 80's, we never looked back, returning 5 or 6 times. All young men flying to the Greek mainland, taxi to Kavala and a ferry over, what excitement. We still talk about it now, some great bars, one in particular called "espredies" run by a large Greek man with a massive beard who was always smiling (i know his name just not the spelling). The song at the time was by Foreigner ... "i wanna know what love is" it seemed like the whole town joining in and singing 
The half moon bar, was it run by Mark and Nina? and Lenny's bar in the town center, the most uncomfortable seats ever but you never missed anyone as eventually you had to walk past! and the best "free pour" ouzo ever! I wondered if anyone had any pictures to share of the 80's, we were Dave, Phil, Barry, Ken, Tom and Alex, really must get back there again, great memories
