Since there has been a lot of conflicting information on the news about traveling to Greece this summer, Go-Thassos has teamed up with Ms. Carmen Dima, a travel blogger from Romania, who is coming to Thassos today for 1 week.

Her mission is to see the situation on the roads, at the borders, and on Thassos and to report the real situation that she finds. We invite you to follow her on Facebook and to read her articles as she publishes them on her website.

This is Carmen’s first time to Thassos and we communicated with her for the first time just 2 weeks ago. You can be certain that her reports will be honest and without any bias. We want you to see for yourself what the situation is so that you can make your decision to come this Summer without fear or uncertainty.

If anybody has noticed in Carmen’s Facebook post, she entered Greece through the Makaza/Nimfea border crossing on July 1st which is officially closed for tourism.

In reality, the border is still open. From what we’ve been reading, the border crossing will remain open through Sunday 5 July. It will close on 6 July.

You can check out these 2 Facebook groups (in Bulgarian, so use a translation service) dedicated to the Makaza/Nimfea border crossings.

You’ll find frequent posts from people passing through the border. If and when the border closes, we’ll learn that here as well.

If you’re willing to take the chance to cross at Makaza/Nimfea, it will save you a lot of time compared to the Promachonas border crossing.
