Second home

After many wonderful years of visiting the beautiful island of Thassos, we finally decided to follow our hearts and buy a little home there. This year, we are becoming your new neighbors in Kallirachi, and we couldn’t be happier about it.

We are truly looking forward to this new chapter in our lives, to meeting you, and to becoming part of the community. We sincerely hope you will welcome us, and that we can build warm friendships together.

With warm regards,

Marián

Welcome to the neighborhood, Marián, and congratulations on making the leap from visitor to resident!

Out of curiosity, what made you finally decide to take the step and buy a home on Thassos? Was it a long-planned dream, or did the right opportunity suddenly appear?

I think many Thassos lovers eventually start wondering what it would be like to have their own little place on the island. It would be fascinating to hear how your journey unfolded!

What made you choose Thassos over other Greek islands?
Why Kallirachi specifically?
Was buying property there easier or harder than you expected?

Your experience might inspire a few of those who may also be dreaming about it.

We had been looking for something small and beautiful for ourselves for several years. To be honest, it was a struggle, but… we didn’t give up.

And why Thassos? Because when you love something, there’s nothing to think about.

And Kallirachi? Do you know that feeling when you arrive somewhere and say to yourself… this is it.

That “this is it” moment is such a special feeling, I know! I think many people who fell in love with Thassos have experienced it at least once.

Was there a particular moment in Kallirachi when you felt it? A view, a walk through the village, or maybe meeting someone there?

And you mentioned the search was a struggle. Did you look at many places before finding the right one?

I’m also curious if others here had a similar moment. When did Thassos stop being just a holiday destination and start feeling like home?

We visited many places… but something was always missing – that special “wow” feeling.

Kallirachi is a beautiful little village, one of many on the island, but for us it feels just right.

The view is stunning, the atmosphere is peaceful and quiet.

And most importantly, we’ve met wonderful people who helped us a lot and continue to help us.

We feel good here – and that’s what truly matters

I know exactly what you mean about that feeling. Some places just “click” the moment you arrive.

Kallirachi has that effect on a lot of people. It’s quiet, authentic, and the sunsets from that side of the island are something special.

Many visitors fall in love with the beaches first, but the villages like Kallirachi are where people really start to feel at home.

Do you already spend time there outside the summer months, or will this be your first full season living on the island?

this will be the first year and I just got back from the island after a short trip, but I’ll be back in a month :slightly_smiling_face:
