Gatwick and Manchester holidays/flights with Thomson now available from Sunday 8th May 2016 but still no other airports?

Hey everyone!

Hope you are keeping warm as winter is slowly settling in the northern hemisphere. To those in the southern hemisphere: lucky you!

A quick update: The new parts we’ve been waiting for just arrived to customs in Athens… so hopefully we will get them in Thassos this week so we can repair your favorite Golden Beach webcam and enjoy the views again. Woohoo!

Hi Wendy. We’re thinking of going flight only with Thomas Cook next year and staying up Scala Potamia end of the bay - looking for a 2 bed apartment as there will be four of us this time - I also see TC are using Suzies - another tempting option

Out of interest what do taxis charge for fares from the airport to Keromoti and from Thassos Town to SP ?

2 years ago a taxi from Thassos town to Skala Potomia was about 18 euros

Hi Tone,

The taxi from the Kavala Airport (KVA) to Keramoti is €20.

From Thessaloniki Airport (SKG) it’s around €150.

we’ve gone independently for the last 4 times, and going again next year.
The first time is a little worrying, but after that you wonder what you were worried about.You will love the sense of freedom, not being part of the crowd.

Hi Adrian. Booked flights with Thomas Cook today - certainly were a lot cheaper than Thomson.
Hoping to stay at the same place we always rent our sunbeds - just a little further down from Green Sea - a really nice Greek couple who have 8 studios right on the beach front . Overall cost is about the same as Thomson’s but exactly where we want to be.

Hi Tone, it’s about twenty euro’s to Keromoti. We found a lovely little place just behind the Sussie, we go there all the time. Very reasonable. What’s the name of your apartments. We sit just beside the Green Sea.

Hi Wendy. We are staying at Aigaio Studios just along from Green Sea towards Golden Beach end of the bay - the studios are practically on the beach and the Greek couple who own them are really nice. We are going later in August. Sounds like you may sit in the same spot !
Still a bit worrying relying on taxis , particularly on the return journey but hopefully all will go well.

Hi Tone, I walked along to Potimai to the taxi rank the day before leaving (needed two taxi’s). Their was no problem.

When you get off the Ferry on your return journey, turn to your left there is a taxi rank a few yards away.

The technician said that he will fix the webcam this weekend since we finally received the new parts from U.S.A. I am very hopeful that the beautiful views will be back in just a matter of days.
