I am feeling really stupid, I cannot find a Ferry timetable so I can book tickets from Kavala to Thassos on 29th June.

Indeed it’s a one-stop ferry, get on from Keramoti or Kavala and get off at the first stop: Thassos 
I recommend the Keramoti to Limenas route (not the Kavala to Skala Prinos route) because the ferries are more frequent, faster, and cheaper.

Yes, tickets are only available at the ticket kiosks at the ferry port. They only accept cash. If you don’t have any upon arrival, there are ATMs nearby.
