I just saw a fire in teh wood next to Skala Potamia.
It is something serious?
Pls let us know since we will be there in 3 days.

Hi everyone,
Today at around 2 o’clock this afternoon a forest fire broke out on the mountainside between the villages of Potamia and Panagia. The fire was quickly met by the island’s firefighters alongside with local citizens who succeeded in extiguishing the fire with the support of water-dropping airplanes.
Congratulations to everyone who took part in the firefighting effort and a big thanks for putting yourselves at risk to protect our beautiful island, its inhabitants and all its visitors!

I’m not certain why you cannot view the webcam but one possibility is that you do not have Adobe Flash Player installed.
You can download it from here: http://get.adobe.com/flashplayer/
If you still cannot see the webcam after Flash Player is installed, please email us so that we may get to the bottom of this problem.

I’m glad to see that everyone on the Island is safe all the Thasssians and its many visitors. Panos at the Supermarket is fine his toe is looking well. Like to thanks Costas and his family for their kind hospitality at the Emerald when we stayed 14 -28 August 2011. We will be back next year, if not sooner (Euro Millions draw) B-)

I just found your Webcam with the wunderfull view to the Golden Beach. My Father Eckhard lived many years in Potamia. So i spent a lot of time at this place too. There are many memories…

We disabled the camera’s microphone for privacy reasons but we are trying to find a solution so that we can provide you the full experience with sound, without infringing on the privacy of Hotel Blue Bay’s guests. We hope to be able to offer you the full experience in the future. Until then I hope the HD video will be enough.
I did it! I removed the Thassos webcam link from my Favourites bar to stop me daydreaming every time I went on the computer. I just can’t keep staring at golden sands, crystal clear waters, blue skies over Ipsarion and people enjoying themselves in the sea while I am stuck in cold, wet, damp and dreary Britain. I have to move on! I lasted two days - today it’s gone back on my Favourites bar - it’s like a tonic - I don’t smoke, I don’t drink, but I need my Thassos fix!!
Hallo I just wanted to ask why the camera stays on the same place for so long time and why cant it get closer to the beach (zoom ??) ?? With the old you could see the people whn they were greating from the beach . With best regard Helen

But I am a little bit sad. It’s only one view and I cannot see Kramboussa
or my little harbour in chrissi ammoudia. All view’s are too fare away
also with the function in the corner.

easyjet released flights for next summer have just booked to come back to thassos in august so excited will have to watch the webcam until then. roll on summer 2012 will watch the olympics from a nice sunny pool.
