I am visiting Thassos from 9th September and wondering how much cash I will need?
I wish to hire a car, eat out in restaurants etc and want to know if VISA and Mastercard payments are accepted by most businesses?

I suggest you do this:
1) Set a 'maximum spend' budget for your holiday
2) Take half of this budget in cash
When you're on Thassos, use your card where ever possible. You will be able to pay with both VISA and Mastercard at many business (but not at all). Where ever you're unable to pay with card, use your cash.
