There is also a fun train that runs between Golden Beach and Skala Potamia.
However I think that kids have so much fun on the beach that there's no need for any thing else

Glad to hear that it's your first time coming to Thassos. Thassos is the perfect island for family holidays. I'm sure you will love it! In Skala Potamia there is a big playground next to the old port, on the beach.
On your walk down to the old port of Skala Potamia you will walk along the pedestrian street where there are many cafes and tavernas. There you will find games, arcades, and even bumper cars.

Looks like it is mainly under control now Toni. Helicopters seem to be dowsing the valley between the two mountains at lower level today. One can still see a bit of smoke between the two mountains. On Wednesday night it was horrendous and all day yesterday Planes and helicopters were trying to bring it under control

booked August 24th for two weeks flying with Thomson for £752 for two people, then our room with balcony over the sea £400. Also two weeks in June, Thomson flight £998 for two and room same cost as in August. I think these are excellent prices

Don is correct. Some boats have a luggage hold room and others have a space outside, next to the steps going up, for storing your luggage for the journey. If you're taking a taxi to Keramoti, usually the driver would help you carry your luggage onto the boat and they know exactly where to put it. Otherwise, just look for luggage and put yours there or ask an employee as soon as you board the ship and they'll direct you to the right place for luggage storage.
No, there is no hydrofoil operating the Kavala - Thassos route this year.
