Returning to Thassos off season

Got a Big birthday to celebrate next year and we are planning to return to Thassos after a 3 year break, we wondered what its like in March? Would be stopping in Thassos town, but hiring a car to travel around the island.
Will there be enough tavernas open in March? Not worried about the weather just want to see the island with hardly any tourists

    Hey Adrian!

Wow - has it been 3 years already? Glad to hear that you and the Missus are coming for your special day!

Have you ever been here for Carnival? Well, it falls in March this year, and the dates you should be here to experience it are the 10th and the 11th!

March is a very quiet time on the island. It's absolute bliss for walks in the hills, mountains, archaeological sites, etc. because the temperature is mild and pleasant (not scorching hot like in the summer). Long strolls along the empty beaches will make you feel like the beach is all yours, too. It's a great feeling, especially if you remember how crowded they can get during the summer. The "downside" about visiting in March is the unpredictability of the weather. It could be sunny and warm enough to go outside wearing just a light jacket or sweatshirt. It could also be cold and wet... so bring suitable clothing for every occasion.

In Limenas there are a few tavernas open so don't worry, you will certainly not go hungry! ;)
